Doug Jones: Where Faith Intersects Politics

  • Highlands United Methodist Church 1045 20th Street South Birmingham, AL, 35205 (map)

Highlands welcomes Senator Doug Jones who will be speaking on the topic of Where Faith Intersects Politics. As a United Methodist whose public service has intersected with some of our nation’s most contentious events from the civil rights struggles to current political divides, Senator Jones offers a grounded voice of reason and commitment to justice that inspires, resonates, and calls us all to action.

Senator Jones, a United Methodist, served in the U.S. Senate from 2018 to 2021.  Prior to his service in the U.S. Senate, he served as U.S. Attorney in the Northern Alabama District.  He is a regular political commentator on CNN and Fellow at the Georgetown Institute of Politics and Public Service.  Earlier this year he was named Supreme Court Nomination Adviser for Legislative Affairs by the Biden Administration to help shepherd the confirmation process for Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson.

Join us on Sunday, September 25 at 5:30 pm. Doors will open at 5 pm. This event is free and open to the public.
