Lay Reader Luncheon

 One of the many merits of our worship at Highlands is the vast amount of Scripture it incorporates. The public act of reading Scripture is an important act of our liturgy and our worship. On any given Sunday morning, one is likely to encounter a reading from the Old Testament, a passage from the Psalms, a portion of the New Testament epistles, and a reading from the Gospels - plus other  scriptural references in the liturgy. As a result, Lay Readers have become an important service in worship at Highlands. Serving as a Lay Reader has developed into a ministry unto itself.

 All Lay Readers and those interested in learning more about becoming a Lay Reader, including the families, at Highlands and are cordially invited to a Lay Reader Appreciation Luncheon in the Fellowship Hall following worship on Sunday, September 11, 2022.
