Discovery Weekend

Discovery Weekend is an immersive spiritual formation retreat for middle school youth, in which high school youth take on significant leadership roles.  Registration deadline is Sunday, February 9, 2025

Cost is $125 per youth.  This covers transportation, food, lodging, programming, and a t-shirt. Payment may be made online at the time of registration, or later by cash or check. Checks may be made to Highlands UMC with "Discovery" in the memo line and dropped off or mailed to the church office at 1045 20th Street South, Birmingham, AL 35205.

Important Things to Know:

• Letters for youth: Each Discovery Weekend, youth receive a package of letters written by family, friends, and church members as encouragement and support in their spiritual journey. Parents can help out by identifying a few important people in your youth's life and asking them to write a letter. Parents may also bring letters when youth are dropped off.

• Prayer Service - February 22, 2025: Please make plans to attend the Saturday night Prayer Service on February 22. This special time of prayer for each student will take place in the Assembly Hall at Camp Sumatanga. Each participant will be prayed for individually during this service and it is especially meaningful to have family and friends in attendance.
