Guest Speaker: Christina Hinshaw N'tchougan-Sonou
Christina was born in Ohio and spent her adolescent years in that area, interspersed with living for a couple of years in Stockholm, Sweden. She attended Independent Presbyterian Church and graduated from Mountain Brook High School before spending her college years at Miami University in Ohio. She has lived and worked in Accra, Ghana for a year after college, and it was there that she discovered the Baha'i Faith, which has since been the major guiding force of my life. During the 1990s, she ran a school in Benin, West Africa, got married to a Togolese man, and did my doctorate at Oxford University. She has since worked for 20 years in the field of International Development, with an emphasis in Education and Youth, which has enabled her family to live in Senegal, Benin, Morocco and Washington, DC. With my two children away at college and the end of my marriage, I moved to Hoover two years ago to live with my mom, who's a member of Asbury Methodist Church. Christina is an active member of the Baha'i community of Hoover.
