On Monday, September 11 at 7:00 PM Highlands United Methodist Church will host the Birmingham Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. The program will be a Service of Remembrance. Dr. Patrick A. Scott, Associate Choirmaster and Organist of St. Phillip's Cathedral in Atlanta will be presenting a program including the singing of hymns and playing of organ works appropriate to the occasion. Dr. Scott will weave together various themes from the September 11 anniversary in an inspiring organ improvisation.
A graduate of Birmingham Southern College and the University of Texas, Patrick was one of the last students of the great improviser, organist, teacher, composer, and church musician Dr. Gerre Hancock. This concert is free and open to the public. All Are Welcome.
Limited parking is available in the Highlands lot off Richard Arrington Blvd. Attendees with limited mobility will want to enter the building from this parking lot.
