Highlands is pleased to host the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus with the Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir for An Interfaith Celebration of Unity on Tuesday, October 10 at Noon in the Sanctuary. Almost 100 voices from the combined choirs will perform a variety of inspirational songs supporting unity, acceptance and love of our LGBTQ+ brothers and sisters. We will join in worship with other congregations and faith communities of the Southside neighborhood and metropolitan Birmingham. A reception in the church Greeting Space will follow the concert. Admission is free and open to all.
Limited parking is available in the Highlands United Methodist Church parking lot, located directly behind the church building off Richard Arrington Blvd. We ask that these spaces be reserved for seniors and those with limited mobility. Metered street parking is available throughout the Southside area as well as the Magnolia Avenue parking deck. Guests may enter the church building from the parking lot or front lawn, directly behind the fountain in Five Points South.
